No copy-pasting, no switching tabs. 1. 1 ### **It reads the posting on screen** The extension collects the text of the open page: job title, company, description. Menus, scripts and sidebars are stripped out before anything is sent. 2. 2 ### **It creates the application** The offer lands in your Jobtae dashboard with its URL and source site, ready to track. 3. 3 ### **It starts generating your resume** Jobtae analyses the offer and generates a tailored resume, plus the cover letter and skills analysis depending on your plan. ## Install the extension Two minutes, a single account connection to make, and the extension then stays in your toolbar. ### **On Chrome, Edge, Brave or Opera** 1. **1\.** Open the Jobtae listing on the Chrome Web Store, then click “Add to Chrome”. 2. **2\.** Pin the Jobtae icon to your toolbar to keep it one click away. 3. **3\.** Click the icon, then “Connect my account”: a Jobtae tab opens, confirms your session and closes itself. To read the text of the offer on screen the moment you click “Add to Jobtae”, and only then.
**Tabs**
To identify the current page and show its title and domain inside the extension window before anything is sent.
**Local storage**
To keep the token linking the extension to your account, plus a device identifier, in your browser. Disconnecting from the extension deletes it.
**Context menu**
To add an “Add to Jobtae” entry when you right-click a page, alongside the toolbar icon.
**Access to jobtae.com**
To send the offer to your account. The extension talks to no domain other than jobtae.com.
**Reading script injection (Chrome)**
To read a page that was already open before the extension was installed, without making you reload it.
## What is sent to our servers When you click “Add to Jobtae”, and only then, the extension sends: - the URL of the job offer page; - the content of the posting, stripped of its menus, scripts and sidebars; - the page title and its share image, to illustrate the application; - the browser used and the language, so the resume is generated in the right one. ### **What is never sent** No browsing history, no third-party site cookies, no passwords, and no page you did not add yourself. The extension does not run in the background on the sites you visit: its Firefox declaration is “no data collected”. **Is the extension free? ** Yes. It is included in your Jobtae account, free plan included, and uses the same application quota as the web app.
**Which job boards does it work on? ** All of them. The extension reads the page on screen, so it works on LinkedIn, Indeed or Welcome to the Jungle just as well as on a company careers site or a posting published on a blog.
**Does the extension read the pages I browse in the background? ** No. It only collects a page's content when you open its window and click to add the offer. The rest of the time it sends nothing.
**Do I need a Jobtae account to use it? ** Yes. The first time you use it, the extension opens a Jobtae tab to link your account. Creating an account is free and includes three applications on the house.
